This precursor to the pincer grasp usually takes place between the 7 and 8 months of age. But the true pincer grasp development is when the child uses the tips of their fingers to pick up the objects.This pincer grip is also known as a superior or neat pricer grasp. When the children achieve the pincer grasp, then they can pick up the thinner and small objects.So, allow your child to grasp the objects so that they make contact with their hands and engage with the items. What Is Inferior Pincer Grasp?An inferior pincer grasp is similar to the regular pincer grasp. But the child is still learning to become a master in this grasp. So they use the thumb pads and finger instead of the tips.In the inferior pincer grasp development, most likely baby starts to pick up a finger or smaller objects. This pincer grip is also referred to as a crude pincer grasp. How To Encourage Your Baby For Grasping The Objects?Put different sizes of small toys or items in front of the baby and watch them, how they try to pick up these different items, and also help encourage that baby for the pincer grasp.Play coins, buttons, or marbles you can use these items to encourage grasping power. But be careful because at this age babies are putting all things in their mouths. So ensure that your baby does not chore or try to swallow any item. Playing with toys that need pulling and squeezing or pulling will be helpful. Use balls with different sizes and texture to encourage the baby to push or squeeze. This activity helps to make the baby hand muscles stronger and gives the ability to coordinate with them. Allow your baby to play with the toys like stacking rings and alphabet blocks of varying textures, sizes, and shapes. Allow them to pick and throw up and pick again, knock or stack them down. So they may clap them together.
